FREE Speech, these two words have powerful meaning. I would venture a guess that most people in this country have not pondered the freedom they have of speaking freely. This is no small matter when put in proper perspective.
I have been aware of this freedom through public speaking for well over 40 years. At first I, like most people, gave it little thought. I just prepared and spoke on subjects of my own choosing without ever having to think about whether or not any authority would shadow me because of what I was saying.
Circa 1962 was my public speaking beginnings. However, this article is not about my experiences, but rather about people and entities desirous of being engaged in national political dialogue. In other words conservatives carving their own way to get around the three liberal television networks: CBS,NBC, and ABC.
These conservative talk radio personalities have met with so much success that there's an ever-increasing danger of a mean-spirited Democratic Washington working hard to resurrect the 1980 repealed "Fairness Doctrine" that once discouraged free speech on the air.
This is a real subject with real attacks on Free Speech by those who would dictate to the American people, or keep hidden agenda's from the American people. Those who would bring back the misnomer "Fairness Doctrine" know full well that there's nothing fair about the "Fairness Doctrine."
You're invited to read a special report about Free Speech At Risk from The Heritage Foundation. Go there now. Just click on or place the following in your browser: www.heritage.org/FreeSpeech You'll be glad to be aware of who, what, where, when, why.
Don't allow anyone to muzzle your freedom to speak on any subject that you, as a free person, wish to address or wish to hear from another. There was a time when we would hear people say something to the effect: "I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend you to my dying breath for your right to say it." That's an example of how important Free Speech is to people in our society.
Threats to our freedoms can be defeated when millions of Americans are alerted and speak out. Again, I invite you to click on the above link for more detail.
